    Emergency Medical Technician-Basic

    Introduction to emergency care, well-being of the EMT-B, medical legal and ethical issues, the human body, baseline vital signs, sample history, professional rescuer CPR, airway management, and scene size-up.

    The student will also learn initial assessment, focused history for the medical and trauma patients, detailed physical exam, focused physical exam.

    This exciting, yet demanding course will be taught through didactic lecture and hands on demonstration and practical application settings. Reading assignments and on-line training will be part of this program. The EMT-B candidate must maintain a grade point average of seventy-five percent or better in order to take the Connecticut Medical Training Academy’s.
